“Every champion was once a contender that refused to give up. Going in one more round when you don’t think you can, that’s what makes all the difference in your life.”
About
Survivors Row Boxing is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Carbon County, Pennsylvania, founded on the conviction that the physical discipline of boxing is a powerful catalyst for psychological resilience, offering a direct, action-oriented response to the challenges of addiction and the cycle of relapse. In a region grappling with economic hardship and intergenerational trauma, SRB will deliver a high-performance model of recovery and youth mentorship, creating a pathway to empowerment for the community’s most vulnerable populations.
Our Vision
At the heart of Survivors Row Boxing is an “Open Gym for All” philosophy that makes its services available to all, regardless of ability to pay. This principle removes the financial barriers that typically exclude at-risk individuals from high-quality wellness and mentorship programs. Our mission, vision, and values are not merely aspirational statements; they are the operational cornerstones that guide every decision. They serve as our north star, ensuring our alignment with charitable purpose and our unwavering commitment to the community we serve.
Our Solution
Our long-term vision is two-fold. We aim:
1. To provide every "Survivor" with the internal and external tools to stay "outside the ropes" of addiction and negative life cycles permanently.
2. To establish a new model in rehabilitative care that bridges the gap between physical fitness and mental health, proving that structured athletic training is a critical component of sustainable recovery..
The Pitch :)Our community is at a critical point, battling with an unprecedented surge in opioid-related crises that has exhausted traditional support systems. This deficit compounds this public health emergency: the total lack of safe, disciplined, and constructive environments outside of home and school where resilience is forged. In this current state, a generation of at-risk youth faces unchecked disengagement, while adults in recovery are left isolated and vulnerable, fighting their battles alone.
The failure of conventional recovery models to address this crisis highlights a critical gap in care. These approaches frequently overlook the fundamental needs of individuals whose neurological pathways have been impacted by trauma and substance use. They treat the mind but neglect the body, leaving Survivors without the tools to manage the intense physical and emotional dysregulation that fuels relapse. This is the precise void Survivors Row Boxing is engineered to fill.
We operate from a position of empowerment, viewing our members not as victims defined by their past, but as Survivors on the cusp of a decision. This pivotal moment is the "First Bell"—the conscious choice to step into the ring, take control of their corner, and reclaim their personal agency. Our program provides a structured, high-impact arena for that fight.
We will provide a rigorous, evidence-based curriculum that equips individuals with the strength needed to achieve long-term sobriety and build a new future. Our mission is to transform isolated individuals into a secure "row" of Survivors who not only achieve their own long-term recovery but also become the mentors and leaders who fortify the next generation.
By fusing the science of neuroplasticity with the grit of boxing, we offer a new fight for life—a chance to rebuild individuals, restore families, and create a sustainable model for community-wide healing. At Survivors Row Boxing, we won’t just train fighters; we will strengthen lives, one round at a time.
